PortaGuard is a fully portable, all in one, wireless integrated alert and communications system, which can be customised and optioned with:
- Security Alarm
- Security Surveillance Cameras
- Medical/First Aid Alarm
- Fire/Evacuation Alarm
- Emergency Telephone
- Emergency Lighting
It is ideal where a temporary communications and alert system is required on short notice, to provide Electronic Security and WHS/OHS related requirements where no physical communications cabling is available.
PortaGuard can be customised to suit all applications, industries and individual requirements.
Typical examples include Building/Construction sites, Outdoor Expos/Functions, Mining, Storage yards, Car yards, Temporary buildings / Containers, Outdoor works such as Road / Tunnel / Bridge Works, Remote - One Person work areas, Temporary high security alarm system (where the main alarm system at the site has been damaged after a break-in or has failed)
The PortaGuard communications module communicates within ‘Virtual Private Networks’ (VPN) provided by Optus and Telstra. These VPN’s are dedicated for alarm data only and ensures all data transmitted and received is secure. Further all messages are encrypted ‘end to end’, using the International Advanced Encryption Standard (AES128)
Reliable communications is ensured by using Dual Sim paths, ie two Telcos (Optus and Telstra) allowing seamless switching between both networks, guaranteeing a network availability of 99.9% .
Emailing and SMS texting of events to your sites personnel is also available in addition to the above.
Your site personnel also has the option of Smart Phone Remote Arming / Disarming of the PortaGuard, where each action remotely logged and user is identified
Automatic Arm/Disarm on a set schedule is also available.

4 X High Resolution Surveillance Cameras, mounted on each side of the telescopic head unit, providing front, rear and both sides, surveillance.
The Security Camera Surveillance module has provisions to connect to the local sites Wifi Access Point for local and remote viewing (via the internet) of live and recorded footage.
The module can also be connected to the Internet via an optional 3G modem if required.
Fire / Evacuation Option
A Red, MCP (Manual Call Point Button – Push Glass Key Reset) labelled ‘Fire/Building Evacuation’, assembled on the PortaGuard
Evacuation Tone Module with Voice Over enabled, using the built-in microphone, to allow your own custom recorded messages to be played when the evacuation alarm is activated (eg.. Evacuation alarm activated… Evacuate to Gate 1 immediately)
In the event that a wired or wireless Fire/Evacuation device is activated , the building evacuation siren will sound (conforms to AS 1670.4), the RED and AMBER strobes will flash, your pre-recorded message with play, if setup) and the event will be reported to the monitoring centre for further action as required. This Audio/ Visual alert can be setup to cycle for a set time or timeout depending on your requirements.
Wireless Smoke, Wireless Thermal Rate of Rise Detectors and Wireless MCP (Manual Call Point Buttons) are also available (see below wireless options)
Additional Fire Fighting equipment can be mounted on the PortaGuard system, which can be monitored in the event of removal or use. Eg. Fire Extinguisher, smoke mask, fire blanket etc.
Medical / First Aid Option
A White, MCP (Manual Call Point Button - Push Glass Key Reset), labelled ‘Ambulance/Medical Request’, assembled on the PortaGuard
In the event that a wired or wireless Ambulance / Medical Request button is activated, the red strobe light will flash only and the event will be reported to the monitoring centre for further action as required.
Wireless MCP (Manual Call Point Buttons) are also available (see below wireless options)
Additional First Aid equipment can be mounted on the PortaGuard system, which can be monitored in the event of removal or use. Eg. First Aid Kit opened, O2 Mask in use etc.
Panic / Police Alert Option
A White, MCP (Manual Call Point Button - Push Glass Key Reset), labelled ‘Police / Security Request’, assembled on the PortaGuard
In the event that a wired or wireless Panic/Police Alert button is activated, the blue strobe light will flash only (siren can sound if required) and the event will be reported to the monitoring centre for further action as required.
Wireless MCP (Manual Call Point Buttons) are also available (see below wireless options)
Emergency Lighting Option
2 X 10W LED Flood Lights mounted on the head component of the PortaGuard System, self powered with their own backup battery.
In the event of a power failure or any other event / Alarm condition (if optioned and programmed), the Emergency flood lights will turn on.
Emergency Telephone Option
Mounted on the PortaGuard system, the module is equipped with one button.
When pressed for a set time
i) The module will report a call request, to the 24hr monitoring centre, identifying the location. The operator will then call the PortaGuard system which will automatically establish voice communications.
All wireless detection devices use Two Way communications, in the 900 Mhz frequency band. Every signal sent by a detector expects to receive a positive acknowledgement from the Wireless control unit. This intelligence means that a detector will automatically re-transmit only if an acknowledgement was not received, thus saving wasted energy and prolonging battery life.
Periodically, each wireless detector is also supervised / monitored by the wireless control unit, to ensure the detector is present and is within wireless range.
In addition to alarm, tamper and wireless test, each wireless detector will also report a low battery condition, to the PortaGuard system and monitoring centre, individually identifying the device.
Available Wireless Devices:
- Wireless Pet Immune PIR detectors. .
- Wireless Reed Switches
- Wireless Photoelectric Chamber Smoke Sensors
- Wireless Thermal Rate of Rise Heat Detectors
- Wireless MCP (Manual Call Point) Buttons (for EVAC, FIRST AID, PANIC etc)
- Remote Controls (ARM, DISARM, Remote Aux Trigger (either Evac, Medical, Flood lights, Security etc)
Some of the Wireless Devices (PIR, Smoke, Heat and MCP) are available mounted on self-standing industrial poles, powder coated safety yellow. Four securing points are provided on the base plate to secure to solid ground.
Should the combination of any or all of the above options not fulfil your specific requirements, PortaGuard can be totally customised.
The system can be programmed to function and interface to most types of auxiliary detectors / sensors, to suit your exact specifications and requirements.
We have had numerous unusual customisation requests which have been easily integrated with the PortaGuard system. If you have a specific requirement, please contact our technical department.
